The city's must-see cultural destination and one of the largest museums in the world devoted exclusively to Asian art with a collection comprised of over 17,000 works spanning 6,000 years of history. Having out-grown its Golden Gate Park home of more than 35 years, in 2003 the museum reopened in a new facility designed by the world-renowned architect Gae Aulenti at the city's historic Civic Center Plaza. The museum offers a wide range of programs for visitors of all ages, free multilingual audio tours, guided tours of the galleries, a museum store and cafe.

Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm,
Thursday until 9pm
Admission:
$12 adults;
$8 seniors;
$7 for youth 13-17;
free for children 12 and under and museum members;
Th after 5pm, $5 adults, seniors and youth 13-17
Groups: Minimum 10. Special group rates and private guided tours available by reservation.
