In the heart of this beautiful nature reserve is Camping Zwanemeer. The Hondsrug is a high plateau that stretches of Emmen to Groningen. By the old, rolling countryside find rivers as the Hunze and the Drentse Aa twisting their course along forests,marshes, moors, sand drifts, fields and rustic area. You will find peace and quiet, but also numerous attractions, sporting activity options and typical Drenthe folklore events. It is precisely the versatility that the Hondsrug-region is known for. There is something special everyone.

For the nature lover:
Very dispersed through the marshes and fens ( ~ 300) with their sompige spring shores, the mysterious megaliths, the sprawling Veen colonies, the heide with the flock, vast accessible forests, streams and rivers.etc.

The sanitary facilities of Camping Zwanemeer are on a high level.
There are two sanitary buildings with a child-friendly area (babyroom, child showers and family showers).
All pitches are equipped with 6 amps electricity, 95 pitches have water and are equipped with cable television. Car-Free places, camp has gas on sale, driers, canteen, lockers, sanitary units heated, landfill chemical toilet, telephone box, washing machines.
From the camp it is easy to get around on foot or by bike. The village has adequate facilities for the daily necessities. Casting is centrally located between: Assen, Emmen, Groningen and Veendam.

On the camp you will find various play equipment, a sandpit and next to the camping site is a heated swimming pool, which our campers can swim freely. In the high season and when requested a recreation team is available with a program for children up to 13 years.
For example as they organise baking, arts and crafts and there is much much more. At the Zwanemeer you can build rafts and go sailing on it. In the evening light a nice campfire perhaps? There is a pasture with animals, three goats and three geese. Sport lovers will enjoy the volleyball court and a table tennis table available on camp.
