Postal code: 6814 CL

City: Arnhem

Information

The Sonsbeekpark is a beautiful park in the heart of Arnhem and is the necessary green interruption. The park has several pastures and in summer its perfect as the sun shines down on them for you to enjoy. The White Villa look from the hill is as an autocrat over the city.

The park houses the butterfly garden, around the meadow you can find various events being organized, the mill and the pavilion mainly in high season.

Sonsbeekpark is the jewel of the Veluwezoom. During the last ice age the Veluwezoom was broadly the form we know today. Large ice masses tucked the landscape in a frozen state. Later the winds blew sands which covered the slopes. This gave life to the rich area of St. Jansbeek, also known as Molenbeek. On its banks for centuries stood a dozen mills. There are now only two are left standing, of which one serves as a flour mill to this day: the monumental White Watermill.
