Information

he castle of Beynac is located near the French town of Beynac-et-Cazenac. The castle is built on a 150 meter high rock. Construction lasted from the 13th to the 16th century. Once the castle was in the possession of Richard the Lionheart.

The castle contains fine (restored) rooms and it has a beautiful view over the Dordogne River. The castle served as the location for the movie Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc.

Castle Castelnaud which lies on the other side of the river can be seen from the castle terrace.
